High quality H.264 video support
Flash player embedded into the browser can broadcast using default video encoder which gives pretty good results. However there are are 2 other codecs that can give even better video quality on the same bandwidth that is On2 VP6 and H264 codec. Our system can support both of them using Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder.
In order to use H.264 codec in webvideo performer have to download Flash Media Live Encoder from Adobe website (it is free application) and install it on the local computer. When webvideo broadcaster started first time performer will see 2 options of broadcasting: using embedded video encoder or using Flash Media Live Encoder application. If 2nd option chosen then flash application will measure bandwidth speed and suggest settings for external encoder along with broadcasting URL. Performer should enter that informat into Flash Media Live Encoder programer and start broadcasting there. Chat, userlist, and all other options of broadcaster application will remain the same and will be used from embedded browser's Flash but video will be broadcaster separately
H.264 encoder requires to have better computer configuration:
- At least 2 core processor
- 1Gb or better 2Gb of RAM.
- High speed internet (at least 800kbps upstream)
- High quality webcam or mini-DV cam with camcorder will give the best results
- Pay attention to the light of the room, usually the more light is better but avoid too much contrast on the image. Light should be smooth.
H.264 can be used with standard 320x240, with bigger 400x300 or with 640x480 resolution. 16:9 wide cameras also acceptable.
